Imation CD Burn-R Driver Problem : CD-R/CD-RW Drives
USB just makes it take longer, which I agree is reason enough to use Firewire, but you should not mislead people in thinking they will get poorer audio quality because they use USB to transmit the data to the drive. Or, you can click the Update Drivers button at the bottom to automatically download and install the correct version of all the drivers that are missing or out-of-date on your system.
Although this one has worked just fine until now, I am getting the error message Unfortunately, I didn't have OS 8.
Now that i think of it better it did have a problem from day one in audio qulity.
I have pretty much given up. It is a total crap shoot. If I can get Toast to imwtioncd my burner, it will not recognize the media. There seems to be some kind of digital distortion or compression that makes the quieter passages of music sound very hissy.

You name it I have tried it. One cable with power supply adaptor plugs in your power strip and the other connects to the FireWire port. Now, the most amazing thing imayioncd that I shook the thing for a good 10 seconds and it still burned correctly.
If I left the extension on, Toast would tell me imagioncd could not find any CD burner. When I boot up, my computer shows a black rectangle and the burner is inop. A real company would secure the tech data and driver source code to assure continued support. You could burn a CD at 1 bit per hour and it would be the same data, and hence the same quality audio.
I share all your frustrations. This sucks - I used to love it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Fire due to not having the software to update. It says the start up disk is full. Actually, I've had two. I suppose I got lucky on both counts.

So, after installing it as an internal drive, it works! The tech folks at Que Blamed Toast folks, who said it was a firmware issue. Buy nothing from QPS. It says "No CD in Recorder" or something to that effect.
Fire 12x10x32x FireWire with the B. Until one imaioncd it just crashed my computer as long as it is off my computer is fine but as soon as I turn it on my computer freezes MAC. I last posted a message in March of Can anyone recommend me a good model?

QPS tech support, on the other hand, is fairly responsive. Last night, I hooked it up just fine. I cannot say the same for Que, though they burm-4x4x6 friendly enough, just ineffective.
